iPromise Learning and Development Center was established with a simple yet powerful vision: to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where children of all abilities can access meaningful educational and developmental opportunities.Located in The Gambia, West Africa, our center was founded by Doreen Dia, an occupational therapist from the United States, who recognized the importance of providing individualized developmental support and inclusive educational opportunities for children and families.
We understand that every child has unique strengths, challenges, interests, and learning needs. Our approach focuses on recognizing each child’s abilities while providing structured guidance and meaningful opportunities for growth.
Our programs combine educational instruction, developmental activities, play-based learning, and practical life skills to help children gain greater confidence and independence.
We believe progress should never be measured by comparison to another child. Instead, we celebrate each child’s individual milestones, whether that means holding a pencil for the first time, learning to communicate a basic need, developing social connections, or completing a daily task independently. At iPromise, every milestone matters, every achievement deserves recognition, and every child belongs.

Meet Our Founder
Doreen Dia
Founder | Occupational Therapist
iPromise Learning and Development Center was founded by Doreen Dia, an occupational therapist from the United States with a passion for childhood development, functional independence, and inclusive education.
Her vision for iPromise grew from the belief that children with developmental differences deserve access to supportive environments where their abilities are recognized, their needs are understood, and their progress is celebrated.
Through iPromise, Doreen aims to help bridge gaps in developmental learning opportunities in The Gambia by creating a space where children receive individualized attention, families feel supported, and every child is encouraged to reach meaningful personal milestones.
Her approach emphasizes the importance of early intervention, hands-on learning, practical skill development, and helping children build independence in everyday life.
